Overview
With the launch of UPI on slice, we wanted to offer rewards to incentivize users to use slice as their primary mode for transactions. However, we wanted to set it apart from other players in the industry and decided to design a skill-based reward framework. We designed a gamified experience where users could earn rewards based on the transaction amount, making each transaction more engaging.
After a successful internal launch, we noticed a competitive behavior among our users. We then added a weekly leaderboard to amplify engagement and drive new onboarding through network effects.
This reward framework has driven significant adoption, with monthly UPI transaction growth at 13% and a 70% engagement rate among UPI users.
